Senior Career Consultant
Emma is passionate about helping professional returners, both men and women, reignite their careers having had an 8-year career break herself.
Understanding the struggles faced by those who have taken time out of their careers to either raise family or to care for a loved one (amongst other reasons) is critical to implementing a successful Returner Programme.
Emma’s career began within agency recruitment working on both interim and permanent positions in a variety of different sectors including Oil & Gas and Financial Services. She then moved to working in-house as a Recruitment Account Manager for Lehman Brothers and subsequently Northern Trust.
Having experienced first hand the difficulties faced when attempting to kick start a career again in a challenging environment, Emma made it her mission to work with an organisation whose main objective is to help those individuals who were struggling to get back to work.
As a former recruiter Emma was very aware of the assumptions made when gaps appear on a candidate’s CV. Sadly many of these candidates are not even considered for roles advertised in the industry and are simply overlooked despite many previous years of very relevant experience.
In her role as a Senior Careers Consultant Emma works closely with the client ensuring that both the client’s needs and candidate’s expectations are perfectly aligned.
“At Inclusivity we spend time with each candidate ensuring they are given the support and guidance needed when re-entering the labour market. More often than not a candidate who has taken time out, regardless of the circumstances, will have concerns about many different factors. Our aim is to ensure that we equip them with the tools and the confidence in their own ability to aid them with their future job search. Working on Returner Programmes is challenging but also extremely rewarding as we are giving people the opportunity to not only enhance their careers but to change their lives for the future.”
